Description
This 1997 Porsche 911 Turbo is more than a modern classic. It is part of the final chapter of the air cooled 911 era, known internally as the 993, and revered by enthusiasts as one of the most beautifully resolved 911 designs. With only around 5,978 993 Turbos produced worldwide, it is a genuinely exclusive car, particularly in this purposeful White over Black specification.
Behind the rear axle sits a 3.6 liter twin turbo flat six, originally rated at about 408 horsepower and 398 lb ft of torque. This example is further enhanced with the E50 Turbo Engine Kit, lifting output to a serious 430 bhp and unlocking even more mid range thrust. Power is sent through a 6 speed manual to the rear wheels, giving the driver a more purist, GT2 like experience in contrast to the standard all wheel drive layout documented for the model range. Curb weight is in the region of 3,300 pounds, giving the car an impressive power to weight balance and period tested performance of around 4.5 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h and a top speed near 290 km/h.
This Turbo is visually distinguished by highly desirable factory and special order equipment. The Y75 Aerokit Turbo II adds deeper front and rear spoilers that sharpen the stance and improve high speed stability, echoing the look of the rare Turbo S. X78 front air inlets and X79 rear side panel air inlets carve more aggression into the bodywork while channeling cooling air to the intercoolers and engine bay. Inside, heated front seats from the P14 package and metal door sill model insignias with code X70 create a cabin that feels both purposeful and premium. Together with the large capacity 92 liter fuel tank for long distance driving, this 993 Turbo blends endurance, performance, and rarity into one compelling, driver focused Porsche.
